Short bio

Since May 1989 he has been a researcher at the MIS Division of ITC-Irst of Trento. Since May 2000 he has been senior researcher and responsible of Silicon Radiation Detector (SRD) project at the MIS Division. Then from 2010 he has been responsible of R&D activity of FBK micro fabrication facility.
The research activity of Maurizio Boscardin deals with technology development for special sensor fabrication, with particular emphasis on high resistivity silicon radiation/particle detectors. The main research topics have recently been concerned with: i) Development of microstrip detectors for high energy physics experiments (AMS02, LHC-ALICE microstrip detectors); ii) Development of detectors with integrated readout electronics based on JFET transistors. iii) Development of special technologies for fabrication of advanced radiation/particle detectors (silicon drift chambers, thin detectors, radiation hard detectors). iv) Development of pixel detectors for medical imaging applications (MEDIPIX) and for high energy physics application ( ATLAS CERN, NA62 CERN); v) development of Si3D detectors si3D for high energy physics application (IBL ATLAS experiment at CERN); vi) development of silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) fabrication technology. He co-authored more than 100 articles published on international refereed journals or presented to international conferences; moreover two European patents have been recognized to him.
